We took the McCormick and Smyth trailer for a spin out to Wilson Bros Contracts to give them a hand during silly season!

We called down to Cleet (Trevor Thompson) to chat with him about the Claas Xerion, which JD Townleys & Son are running for its 15th season. He tells us all there is to know about this machine. Will it last another 15 season’s??

We didn't take long getting the JCB TM420S a job, Samuel Beattie was itching to give it a try as they run a TM320S as part of their outfit! We caught him and Hanna contacts at Samuels’ farm as they were putting in some second cut and got his thoughts on the new machine!

We couldn't head out for second cut without paying a visit to see Killen Bros. and their new Krone 1180 harvester! ? We took the opportunity to bring the Hornet and the Smyth trailer up and even got the Supercube hooked onto the 8s for a day! Jonny Killen chatted to us about what made them take the plunge on the 1180 and other changes with their fleet since we last caught them at silage! What a set up these guys have! ??

The 6120M goes out to join in with Speedy Farms strong John Deere fleet! Craig gives us his thoughts on the pocket rocket after hauling some grass away from the 8100!

We called down to Co. Westmeath to see an absolutely 'Claas' outfit, Scally Silage! They run a whole fleet of Claas machinery as well as two JCB loaders on the pit! ? Just listen to the sound of that old 870 roar! ?

We took a trip down to Co. Meath to check out Kevin Meade & his contracting outfit, where we got chatting to Kevin about his new Krone 780 harvester and the Volvo L110H loader that's joined the fleet to keep up with it. Seeing as he is a big fan of the black trailers, we decided to bring the JCB Fastrac 4220 & our Smyth Supercube trailer along for the spin as well!

It's been a tough start to the silage season due to the broken weather but we managed to catch up with DJ McKay & Son as they got stuck into some first cut grass before the rain really hit. We got talking to James McKay as he tested his new Volvo L90 on the pit, and chatted about what he thought of their John Deere R series and whether they'd take a notion to upgrade the harvester to a 9900i next time round...

We visited Alex Orr on the Scottish borders as he was out destoning in his Fendt 415 ahead of the leek drill, and he told us all about how he was starting out with his new contracting business alongside the livestock farming at home.

While we were in Dorset, England, we caught up with Matt Shine from Samco as he was visiting Bartletts out working with their 71HD 3-in-1 maize drill. We got chatting to him about how they came to manufacture the 3-in-1 machine and the different varieties of film they produce.

This is the second part of our visit to Davies Bros in Wales. In this part we catch up with Huw and Jane Davies on their new trailer that has taken social media by storm. This incredible trailer came about when Huw seen an opportunity to support a charity when the time came to purchase a few new trailers. Watch to listen to their full story…
